Loren Spivack announced at a press conference on Tuesday afternoon that the mall will be shuttering his kiosk despite efforts by Simon Property Group to buy his principles.

Spivack spoke with mall mangers on Monday and was offered the renewal of his lease on condition that he removes four items from his cart. These were the items that the mall found ‘too provocative’:

1. “Al Qaeda’s 2 Favorite Days: 9/11/01 & 11/4/08”
2.  “Obama Wins. They Celebrate in Iran. Do you get it yet?”
3. “No to Osama, Obama, and Chelsea’s Momma”
4. “Vote Obama!” “Change Al-Qaeda can believe in!”

After speaking with most of his employees and family members, Spivack decided that he “can’t submit to that kind of censorship.” Spivack found the mall’s decision ‘capricious in that it finds that some points of view are permissible, and others are not.”

He said: “We are going to stand on principle even though there is an economic cost to that.” Free Market Warriors began out of Spivack’s hope to reenergize the Conservative movement and espouse capitalistic ideals, all the while promoting free speech. Spivack and his employees do not believe they can continue to do that under the mall’s censorship, so they have decided to decline Simon’s conditions.
