Hookah Bliss, Orange County Trash Collections and Racism

If you read the title to this article you may think there can be no connection to the subjects mentioned. Yes, there is a connection. Let's start with Hookah Bliss, a small business that may no longer be in business when the smoking ban kicks in just after New Years Eve, on January 2, 2010. The busy body do gooders who want to control ever aspect of your waking (and sleeping) life passed a law to eliminate smoking in "public places" like bars, restaurants, stores, you name it, and the ban pretty much covers where you may find yourself when you leave home. Of course there were exceptions, and according the owner of Hookah Bliss those exceptions were for "rich, older white men". Of course the statement is inherently racist, but more on that later. Let's talk about the people who want to control the lives of others. Friday, October 23 at approximately 5:10 Adam Bliss appeared via phone on the local  radio network WPTF talking to the local right wing wag Bill Lumaye. Laymaye isn't exactly Rush Limbaugh he but has those aspirations and has stated them in no uncertain terms. On the program Adam Bliss made the observation that he was "selling a legal product to those of legal age".  That should be the end of it, but it's not. Busy bodies in our legislature such as Ellie Kinnaird and other leftists want to control both what people like Adam Bliss do and the actions of the entire country. Kinnaird has stated publicly that she will "do anything she can to help Adam stay in business". But, oh yeah, she sponsored the bill that is putting Hookah Bliss out of business. Guess she never heard of that thing called the "Internet" before she told such a bold faced lie to both Adam Bliss and the world at large.

OK, now, how is related to Orange County Trash Collections? In another move to control, tax and regulate every thing we do, Orange County is about to tax your trash. Yep, tax your trash. A web site and a movement has sprung up to try to stop it called Orange County Voice. Think this is a good idea? In the last two weeks people who have organized the site and the movement have been forced to leave the recycling centers while passing out fliers against this idea even though those people are local taxpayers on county land paid for by those exact taxpayers. These are the often forgotten about rural Orange County residents. If you don't know who and where those people live, get on Columbia Street and head north. You'll find them pretty fast. The fact that the local politicos want to tax your trash is just as bad as putting a legal business under for a social agenda, and both are social agendas.. This will be double taxation since taxpayers already pay a tax for trash disposal. You get taxed twice to fulfill the social agenda of the local politicos. NOTE: If this law does pass, this site will list all of the politicians names and addresses who voted for the idea since it will becheaper to toss your trash into the front yards of those people than to take it to the local trash works

Remember Terri Schivo? If you don't, go to the link and chance are you'll remember the case of the US Senate getting involved in a Florida "pull the plug on a brain dead woman" in Florida.  Somehow what would usually be something decided in a local or at most a state court actually became "the issue" for Our Masters In Washington. This was done via "special legislation.  A legislator forced it into the Hallowed Halls of Congress with a proposed bill. Such "special legislation" is done all the time, usually in state or local governments. Usually it's to address a "day" for someone who is deemed so worthy but it can be done for anything. Now the question is why hasn't Ellie Kinnaird introduced such "special legislation" for Adam Bliss and the other Hookah Shops in the NC Senate? Because she doesn't really want to "help Adam to stay in business"?  Perhaps it's because Hookah Shops don't have a good lobbying arm in Raleigh and can't plow Ellie Kinnaird under with campaign contributions like "rich, older white men" can shovel out on causes they deem worthy. How many Hookah Shops are there in North Carolina? Five? Ten? This is a serious question. It's doubtful there are even that many, so there is no political power associated with such a small constituency. Let's also not forget the social agenda of people like Ellie Kinnaird who wants to get in your bar, your bed and your gun rack (especially your gun rack) while smiling at you telling you that she "wants to help".The most feared sentence in the world for any thinking person is "I'm from the government. I'm here to help you".

Onto the subject of racism spoken of in the title of this piece. If Adam Bliss had make the statement that the exemptions were for things that matter to  "
rich, older BLACK men", people would be marching on  Franklin Street beating pots  to shut him down, just like they did at the house of the innocent Duke LaCrosse players. But it's just fine to say "rich, older white men" in the politically correct word of Chapel Hill. It's fine to be racist against white men now, isn't it? Well no,not really................unless you are in Chapel Hill............or pretty much anywhere else in the world of politically correct world of  "let's get whitey"  racism. Woe to anyone who insults a minority but insult a white person and it repeated ad nauseam in the press and not a word of criticism is voiced, proving the same people who want to take away your rights to use a legal product like tobacco, who want to get into your house to control your personal actions and your life in genera are also true, genuine racists...........if you are insulting "rich older white men".  In the mind of the politically correct, anyone who is white can be singled out for racist remarks and epithets with impunity.

..............and, how much money do you make Mr. Bliss? Can we see your financial statement? Do you make more than $50,000 a year in salary or profit on your business? If so, by government standards you are "rich" and "deserve to pay more taxes than "the poor". Really, if "rich older white men" are so evil and corrupt why do you aspire to be one of them by being an independent business man who is trying to make a profit? What happens if you, by your efforts become one of those "rich older men"? Will you give it to the "poor" in order to assuage your guilt? If being "rich" is so bad, why bother to try to enrich yourself in any manner whatsoever? Just shut down the doors to Hookah Bliss now and let the people who want to destroy your business and control your life declare victory over you and the others whom they would control.
